Bespoke PHP / MySQL solutions

Painted by Paul Andy Wasserman Rockingham RC

There are many questions asked on the Serif Web Plus forums about using PHP & MySQL in web applications. Many seem to think that a dynamic application can be produced ‘in the blink of an eye’. Unfortunately this isn’t always the case.

My hobby is model car racing and there is much scope for using these two tools to provide  and present information to those that want it. Below are just some examples of how information can be presented so that it is relevant to the subject. All these applications are individually hand coded

Race data, which is updated on a weekly basis after a club night every Thursday

Every body who races on a National level has a ranking and here drivers can check their current ranking, which is updated after every National event.

Also, every body who races on a National level is a member of a club and clubs are divided into areas within the UK. Here, drivers can check their current status within the National Association

I have also provided help and guidance to other users on various projects.

Here, someone wanted to be able to select and play their Church sermons on demand.

I’m not sure if it ever got implemented but here it is and it basically works.

If you need help with any PHP/MySQL project and I am able to help, please get in touch.

Depending on the size and complexity of the task I may ask for a small donation for my time, but I’m sure you’ll find it worth it.
